This is my second time purchasing the Angel Yeast. Perfect for breadmakers and it is pure yeast without any mixture of flour unlike the other brand I used to buy and so it rises very quick. Good for the colder weather as your dough is sure to rise.

Each time I make dough with Angel it takes on a smell of alcohol. Like sherry. It rises well but my nose objects to the smell of booze bread. I really don’t know why this is happening except will try to use less yeast and keep trying!

Yes, It sounds like you are using too much yeast or allowing it to rise too long. Try halving the yeast, 1 teaspoon is normally enough for any loaf
